Elegant design, function and konstructive methods for mechanimns in motion in architecture.
This seminar in Advanced studies in Building Technology was devided in four sections: Starting at the analysis of design objects in motion, through the design of a moveable sculpture, which was translated into a functioning opening mechansimn up to the architectural implementation.
The student teams built fully funcional models. Our didactic focus was on the design and developement of details which are true to their materials at the scale oft he models. In cooperation with the Lasercentre oft he LUH individual metal components were developed and produced. The graphic representation of a motion sequence was achieved through highly detailed technical drawings and sequential photographs, allowing for the final projects to be presented both as abstract drawings and the haptic experience of the physical model.
